Clipex (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our audio extraction and conversion application.
The short version: Clipex processes all audio and video files on your device. We do not upload, store, or have access to your media files.
Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information directly. Clipex is designed with privacy in mind:
- No account creation required
- No personal data collection
- All audio/video processing happens on your device
- Your media files never leave your device
Third-Party Services
Clipex uses a limited set of third-party service providers to operate subscriptions and understand how core features are used. We do not use advertising SDKs, crash reporting SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
TelemetryDeck
Clipex uses TelemetryDeck for anonymous analytics so we can understand app usage and improve the experience. TelemetryDeck events are limited to high-level product interactions such as onboarding progress, paywall views and conversions, and export-related actions.
TelemetryDeck does not receive your media files, recordings, or other content you process in the app. The analytics data sent through TelemetryDeck is designed to avoid direct personal identification and may include a hashed device identifier to help us distinguish unique app installations without learning your identity.
RevenueCat
Clipex uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, subscriptions, and entitlement status. RevenueCat may process information related to your purchases, such as subscription status, transaction and purchase history, and device identifiers used to validate and manage your access to paid features.
We do not receive your full payment card information. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and RevenueCat acts as our subscription management provider.
Media Files
When you use Clipex to extract, reverse, convert, or trim audio:
- All processing happens entirely on your device using iOS’s built-in frameworks
- Your video and audio files are never uploaded to any server
- We do not have access to your media library beyond what you explicitly select
- Processed files are saved locally to your device
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to Clipex Premium:
- Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store
- RevenueCat helps us validate purchases and manage subscription status
- RevenueCat may process purchase history and device identifiers for subscription management
- We do not have access to your payment information
- Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings
Microphone Access
Clipex requests microphone access only for the audio recording feature. Microphone data is:
- Used only when you actively record audio
- Saved locally to your device
- Never transmitted to any server
Apple Music Library Access
Clipex may request access to your Apple Music library so you can import songs or audio files into the app. This access is used only to let you select media for local processing on your device. We do not upload your music library information or imported files to our servers.
Children’s Privacy
Clipex does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
Your Rights
Since we don’t collect personal data directly, there is generally no account-based personal information for you to access, modify, or delete through us. If you want more information about data handled by TelemetryDeck or RevenueCat, please review their privacy policies linked above. All your local app data can be deleted by uninstalling the app.
