Overview
ClipKit (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use ClipKit for video compression, media conversion, trimming, cropping, and audio extraction.
The short version: ClipKit processes your media on your device. We do not upload, store, or have access to the videos, audio files, or exports you create in the app.
Information We Collect
ClipKit does not require an account and does not collect personal information directly for normal media conversion.
The app may process limited technical and product information through service providers to operate purchases, analytics, and feedback:
- Product interaction events, such as screen views, paywall views, conversion success or failure, and purchase-related actions
- Purchase and entitlement status needed to unlock ClipKit Pro features
- Feedback messages and optional email addresses, only when you choose to send feedback
- App version, build number, platform, and bundle identifier for diagnostics and support context
We do not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Media Files
When you import videos or audio files into ClipKit:
- Processing happens locally on your device
- Your selected media files are not uploaded to our servers
- We do not have access to your Photos library or Files app beyond the items you explicitly select
- Exports are saved locally or shared only when you choose to save or share them
- Share extension imports are handled on your device
Photos and Files Access
ClipKit may request access to selected media from Photos or Files so you can import content for conversion. This access is used only to let you choose source media and save exports you request.
ClipKit does not scan your media library, upload your files, or access media you did not select.
Third-Party Services
ClipKit uses a limited set of service providers to operate the app. These providers do not receive your source media files or exported media.
PostHog
ClipKit may use PostHog for product analytics. Analytics events help us understand whether core flows are working, such as import, export, paywall, purchase, restore, and error states.
PostHog events may include an app-generated installation identifier, app version, build number, platform, bundle identifier, and event-specific properties. We do not send your media files, media titles, file contents, or exported output through analytics events.
RevenueCat
ClipKit uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, lifetime unlocks, and entitlement status. RevenueCat may process purchase-related information such as transaction status, purchase history, product identifiers, and device identifiers needed to validate your access to paid features.
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card information.
Supabase
ClipKit may use Supabase to receive feedback that you choose to submit from the app. A feedback submission may include your message, optional email address, app version, build number, platform, and bundle identifier. Do not include sensitive media or personal information in feedback messages.
Purchases
If you purchase ClipKit Pro:
- Payment is processed by Apple through the App Store
- RevenueCat helps validate purchases and manage entitlement status
- ClipKit Pro is a one-time unlock, not a subscription
- We do not receive full payment card details
Children’s Privacy
ClipKit is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Your Choices
You can:
- Delete local app data by deleting the app from your device
- Manage App Store purchases in your Apple ID account settings
- Avoid sending feedback if you do not want to share a message or email address
- Contact us with privacy questions using the email below
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
