KidBooks

Last updated: August 10, 2026

Overview

KidBooks (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) provides calm bedtime stories for families with children ages 2–6. It is designed to work without an account and to minimize data handling.

The short version: KidBooks has no advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, social features, or user accounts. Favorites, listening progress, language, settings, and downloaded story files stay on your device.

Information We Collect

KidBooks does not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or information entered by a child.

The current TestFlight build does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or subscription-management SDKs. We do not sell personal information or use information for advertising or tracking.

Data Stored on Your Device

KidBooks stores the following information locally so the app can remember your choices and work more reliably:

  • selected language and app preferences;
  • favorite stories;
  • recent listening and playback progress;
  • the most recently loaded catalogue; and
  • story audio and artwork cached for offline playback.

This information is not sent to us. It is normally removed when you delete the app, subject to standard device backup behavior controlled by Apple.

Content Delivery

KidBooks downloads its story catalogue, artwork, and narration from our content service when a server is available. To deliver those files, the hosting provider necessarily processes limited network information such as the device IP address, requested file, request time, and basic connection details.

We use this technical information only to deliver content, protect the service, and diagnose reliability problems. We do not use it to identify a child, build a profile, advertise, or track activity across apps or websites. Production hosting will be configured to minimize raw logs and retain them only as long as reasonably needed for security and operation.

Apple Services

Apple may provide TestFlight and App Store diagnostics or aggregate usage information under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive a child’s name, Apple ID password, or payment-card details from Apple.

The current TestFlight version does not create a paid subscription.

Purchases and RevenueCat

When paid access is enabled, KidBooks plans to use RevenueCat to manage purchases and entitlement status across iOS and Android. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, store product identifiers, purchase and subscription status, transaction information, platform, app version, and limited device or network information needed to validate access and prevent fraud.

Apple App Store or Google Play will process payments. We will not receive full payment-card details. KidBooks will not send a child’s name, story choices, favorites, or listening history to RevenueCat. RevenueCat will be used for purchase functionality, not advertising or behavioral analytics. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy for details.

Before a KidBooks build containing RevenueCat is released, the applicable App Store and Google Play data disclosures will be updated to include purchase-related data.

Children’s Privacy

KidBooks is designed for families and children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no chat, social sharing, public profiles, user-generated content, behavioral advertising, or third-party analytics.

Parents or guardians should contact us if they believe a child has provided personal information to us. If that occurs, we will delete it.

Your Choices

You can clear locally stored KidBooks information by deleting the app. You can also contact us with privacy questions or requests concerning information that may appear in operational support records.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when KidBooks, its content service, or legal requirements change. The latest version and effective date will always appear on this page. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store privacy disclosure before release.
